    Description

Great travel lap desk for a Civil War Officer or Soldier. Compact and sturdy. Bought from a Sutler at the Battle of Wilson's Creek, Missouri, The Gettysburg of the West. The first Union General would die there, Nathaniel Lyon. 10" x 9" x 4" folded. First opening is the top folds away from you exposing the ink holders and writing utensil holder. Next you open the piece towards you exposing the interior featuring a drawer. On the leaf you just opened, has slots for writing papers, brochures etc. When opened it's 24" from front to back. No issues at all, might as well be new, but I did use it and for 20 years, it never actually went out on the battlefield, that's how it kept so nice. Cabn be used with small, keyed lock. Solid wood, weighs almost 6 pounds!
